Early notices and supplier lists (1)

Early notices say a buyer plans to tender. Not all go ahead. In our check of Find a Tender notices from 2024 to 2026, about 4 in 10 became a tender within 6 months.

How we count

From notices on Find a Tender, Contracts Finder and Public Contracts Scotland. This page counts research and consulting tenders whose CPV code starts 79311, 7932, 79342310 or 79342311, or whose title has “social survey”, “customer survey”, “satisfaction survey”, “residents survey”, “resident survey”, “staff survey”, “household survey”, “tenant satisfaction”, “perception survey”, “opinion poll” or “polling”. It leaves out titles that name other work, such as “polling station” or “polling district”. A tender counts once; a direct award never counts. Sizes are the values notices state, framework ceilings left out. Values are usually without VAT; “incl. VAT” marks one given only with it. For contracts ending, we use each tender’s latest end date from its award notices, or work it out from the contract’s start date and length. We leave out contracts with neither, and those whose award notice was published before 23 October 2024. We name a buyer only when its notices say it is a public body. Not included: Welsh tenders under £30,000, published only on Sell2Wales, and Northern Ireland’s below-threshold tenders, published only on eTendersNI. See Data sources for licences and coverage.
